Al Rockoff, an American photojournalist has collaborated with OBEY for some strong statement tee shirts for their Fall 2009 men’s collection. The shirts feature Al Rockoff’s photos of his time while he was in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia in the 1970′s at the time of Khmer Rouges’ take over. During this period Cambodia was not safe, especially for foreign journalists who could be executed if caught by Khmer Rouges. While in Cambodia he was badly hurt and technically died for several minutes until he was revived by Swedish Red Cross. After the fall of Phnom Penh, many people were forced into exodus to the countryside where they were forced to work in the fields, and most did not survive. He has been known for his extreme risks in order to get the photos he has taken. He currently resides in both Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he still works as a photographer.
