Warm and sunny, melodic and psychedelic are just a few words to describe Miracle Condition’s first single off their debut EP. The guitars on ‘The Wandering Y’ dive into pools of shimmering reverb and staccato drum rolls creating an aura of a romantic summer fling but the song is about a relationship falling apart and that’s when the heavy breakdowns come in, intruding on the shoegaze vibe with the drug induced haze of 1970′s prog rock. ‘The Wandering Y’ is the kind of song that has an immediacy that envelopes your ears but so many intricacies in the production that when guitarist/vocalist Matt Carson asks his rhetorical lover if “we can start again?” you have no choice but to acquiesce.
